Iguanodon is a massive dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, approximately 126 to 122 million years ago. The first fossils of this dinosaur were found in 1820 in Sussex, England. From the research carried out on the fossils, it can be learned that an adult Iguanodon weighed as much as 3.08 tons and measured about 10 meters in length. At this size, Iguanodon could measure up to 2.7 meters tall. Iguanodon’s food is still not exactly known today. The only thing that is certain is that the dinosaur was herbivorous. In today’s episode, we take a closer look at a dinosaur from the dromeosaur family – Velociraptor. It was a dinosaur that lived about 75 to 71 million years ago in the second half of the Cretaceous period. It is estimated that adult specimens of this dinosaur measured up to 2.07m in length and 0.5m in height. Its weight ranged from 15kg to 19.7kg. Velociraptor was most likely an active predator that hunted smaller or similarly sized dinosaurs. It is speculated that it jumped on prey and pinned down with its legs to then eat its prey alive. This is the name that palaeontologists gave to this dinosaur. The weight of this dinosaur has been estimated to about 500 kg, while the length is estimated at 3m. It has no teeth in its jaws! This is surprising because other dinosaurs that are closely related to Oviraptor have teeth. Another peculiarity is that the Oviraptor has long arms with very strong claws.
